FAA now requires re-registration every 3 years
The FAA has issued a final rule today that requires all US civil registered aircraft renew their aircraft registration over the next 3 year period. The re-registration applies to all US civil aircraft registered prior to October 1, 2010. There will be a fee of $5 for the re-registration. Aircraft that are not re-registered will have their N number cancelled. The FAA is setting up a 3 year schedule for re-registration and owners will have to re-register their aircraft every three years after the first re-registration.
