The IO-550-N belongs to the larger IO-550 family, which evolved from Continental’s IO-520 series. The stroke was increased from 4.00 to 4.25 inches, boosting total displacement to 552 cubic inches (9.05 liters). These engines deliver between 280 to 360 horsepower, with the IO-550-N producing a rated 310 HP at 2700 RPM.
